I’ve been an Adviser since 1989. In that time I have helped many clients, including many from overseas who have been referred by others.I started my career in the financial services industry at 23 years old, after qualifying as an Aeronautical Engineer with the RNZAF. My first position was at Government Life (now Tower Insurance). Within 12 months I had qualified for the prestigious ‘Million Dollar Round Table’, and was the youngest person ever to become one of the company’s Top 20 advisers in the country.When the market deregulated in the early 1990s, I was one of the first independent advisers to serve the market via multiple agencies. This allowed me to offer my clients more choice and a better service, with more security over the plans that we put in place. While this was innovative at the time, it’s a practice that is now commonplace today.More recently in my career, I have founded and developed several successful businesses in the financial services sector. As a founding franchisee at New Zealand Home Loans, I helped grow the business into the largest NZHL franchise in the country.I now specialise in helping business owners and professionals like myself gain financial freedom faster, and protect themselves against the risks that can derail their future plans both financially and insurance/cashflow plansWhen it comes to home loans, I firmly believe it’s not the rate you pay, but the rate you can pay it off that matters most. Interest rates will always rise and fall over time, but getting the right home loan structure in place at the beginning is how I help my clients achieve their financial goals faster.

In late 1996, I helped establish New Zealand Home Loans as a founding Owner/Franchisee, and was a top consultant there for nearly a decade.During my time with NZHL, the company achieved tremendous growth in the home loans market. Together with my business partner, John Schumacher, we successfully built the Auckland branch up to a team of 15 advisors – the largest franchise in the country.We achieved that by helping our clients understand their cashflow better, and how to get their incomes working smarter, allowing them to become debt-free sooner. This is a key philosophy that I still work on today.
