About Keith Kirkland

I am pleased to announce that I have joined Growth Lending and will help to lead their expansion efforts into the USA. Contact info: (770) 298-4430 | keith@growthlending.com.I am a sales and marketing professional with over 25 years of experience in providing growth capital to growing small and middle market companies. The bulk of my experience is in asset based lending and the various components of working capital financing, including credit facilities comprised of term loans, cap-ex lines, trade finance, and other financing products that help our borrowers to be successful.Growth Lending has been supporting SMEs since 2011, when we first noticed a missing link in the funding cycle for growing businesses. Since then we have supported firms with all kinds of funding requirements - from smoothing out cash flow to raising capital for product development and expansion. While we have grown significantly during this time, some things have remained the same: much like the firms we support, we do things a little bit differently. A human-first lending approach enables us to be agile and flexible, with decisions made by people, not machines. We have capital ready to invest in growing US businesses. We also love friendly collaboration with other lenders, especially when we can help to fill gaps in the financing needs of their clients.

Listed skills include Asset Based Lending, Finance, Mergers And Acquisitions, Loans, and 40 others.

Dec 2015 - Jun 2016

Senior Vice President

Alpharetta, Ga, Us

As part of the leadership team, I wore many hats in our efforts to grow the company and I had a diverse background with Presidential. In 2008, I enjoyed managing and designing the re-branding effort of the 30 year-old company; crafting and communicating our message to a marketplace that was confused about our identity; and building a nationwide audience of referral sources that have become passionate about what we do. I managed the re-creation and standardization of many of the company's processes and documentation, particularly as it relates to the sales and marketing efforts. I also was instrumental in the streamlining project that prepared us for the substantial growth that we are experiencing. I created all sales and marketing strategies, and communications, and managed a team of great salespeople. I created and maintained our company blog, writing creative posts that attracted the attention of our industry peers and referral sources. After the acquisition of Presidential by MidFirst Bank (early 2013), I was also responsible for training and educating the MidFirst lenders and other MidFirst personnel located in Oklahoma and Arizona. This has resulted in multiple closed transactions.I also created Presidential's new marketing theme, selected all of the new imagery, and wrote the entire content of our new website, which was launched in late 2013. Newly designed marketing collateral and email campaigns soon followed.Following the successful implementation of these things, I focused on the fun and creative side of asset-based lending, which is all about finding and closing deals, and communicating our message across the United States about our passion for entrepreneurial businesses.

Jan 2008 - Dec 2015

Executive Vice President

Wall Financial Services And Physician Finance Group

I was fortunate to become involved with Wall Financial almost from its beginning. I was intimately involved in developing sales and marketing strategies, as well as company policies and processes. I participated in the solicitation and closing of almost every transaction, and created the company's first marketing campaigns. I was also deeply involved in the creation of Wall Financial's healthcare finance division, including product strategy, creation of all marketing materials, design and oversight of the technology used for collateral management and client interface, and direct selling of the product to the marketplace.Wall Financial provided asset-based lines of credit to small and middle market businesses and healthcare providers throughout the United States. The company was merged with Presidential Financial in January 2008.

Oct 2004 - Dec 2007

Founder And President

Ocs, Inc.

After struggling to find competent, honest contractors to do some work on my home, I realized that there was a need for a network of qualified, documented, honest and hard-working subcontractors in the Nashville area. I couldn't find such a network, so I built it myself. Next thing I know, I am a general contractor for all types of residential and commercial remodeling projects, managing a network of about 75 subcontractors. We remodeled and built additions onto many homes in the fashionable neighborhoods surrounding Nashville, and even flipped a property or two along the way. It was an invaluable experience learning to be responsible for other people...and their paychecks. I'm not sure there exists a better education than building a business from scratch. And it gave me incredible insight and perspective into the daily lives of the entrepreneurs that I have worked with since those days. (And now I'm also a pretty handy guy around the house.)

Nov 2002 - Oct 2004

Vice President Sales

Encompass Global Payment Solutions

Encompass was just several months old when I joined the management team as VP of Sales. An incubator company owned by Marquette Bank, Encompass created web-based, international trade finance solutions which were marketed to community banks across the US. I enjoyed being a part of the product development in the early stages of the company, which then transitioned into developing the sales and marketing strategies as the product was prepared for market. (The fun ended when Marquette Bank was sold to Wells Fargo, but it was a fun ride until then).

Oct 2001 - Nov 2002

Account Executive

Investment Scorecard

Investment Scorecard (now Informa Investment Solutions) provides performance measurement solutions for wealth management firms and trust/banking companies. As an Account Executive in the sales department, I marketed this product to banks, primarily in the midwest and west coast regions of the US.

Jan 2000 - Oct 2001

Vice President

Us

If you've worked in the ABL industry, you know that many ABL professionals have worked for Heller Financial at sometime in their careers. As a sales executive responsible for sales throughout the Southeast region, my experience at Heller was an excellent one, personally and professionally. As part of the management team in the Southeastern office, we were tasked with improving the results of this particular division. I'm proud to say that we moved this division from the worst-performing to the top-performing in just one year. It required over 100,000 miles in the air, many nights away from home, and lots of hard work...but the results were amazing, and contributed to the successful sale of the company in late 1999. My responsibilities centered around direct calling to mid to large sized businesses in various industries, including apparel, textile, home furnishings, staffing, and other service businesses.

1997 - 2000 ~3 yrs

Vice President

Charlotte, Nc, Us

SunTrust (originally Trust Company Bank) proved to be an excellent place to begin my career. At that time, its Factoring Division ranked in the top five in the industry, providing factoring and asset-based facilities to mid-sized and large companies throughout the US. I started out as a collector, a job I think everyone should do once. I moved on to become a credit manager, representing manufacturing companies in the apparel and textile industries. Ultimately, and for most of my time at SunTrust, I was a Sales/New Business officer. What a valuable experience to do that during a time when manufacturing was still big business in the US. I've walked miles through manufacturing plants and experienced yarn spinning, fabric weaving, sock knitting, dyeing and finishing of fabrics and yarns, fabric quilting, carpet production, furniture fabrication...and more. My career at SunTrust provided an excellent foundation on which to build my career since that time. It's where I learned to make difficult collection calls; where I learned the complexities of how businesses are run; where I learned how to sell; and where I cultivated the desire to become successful in business.
