Responsible for leading design efforts on multi-million dollar automated equipment projects for a variety of industries including medical devices, pharmaceutical, commodities and industrial. Familiar equipment/disciplines include: unwinds/rewinds, web accumulators, intermittent web handling/hitch feeds, glue application, web coating and laminating, slot die design, high precision calendering, form fill seal machines, heat seal design, die presses and filter making machines employing assembly of multi-layered websResponsible for conceptual design of new systems and ensuring design integrity during the design phase of projectsConceptual design activities included: Customer meetings, internal and external ideation sessionsWorking with customers on process development and DFM Working with project engineers to establish project scope, design criteria, and system layoutIdentifying potential POP opportunities, and concepting POP machines and assembliesShop mock-ups and experimentationConceptual modeling of assemblies and systemsResponsible for directing the work of other engineers, designers, and contract employeesEnsured proper ISO design procedures were followed and appropriate project documentation and customer deliverables were prepared and filed on the network and archived.
