Responsibilities:Manage and Operate TELUS internal Security Infrastructure• Engaged in Life-cycle management ensuring internal security devices are secured and in support. Experience in multiple firewall vendors: Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco• Provide operational support for multiple IAM projects including PKI deployment upgrade which oversaw the migration of thousands of certificates without outage.• Implemented new monitoring / alarming tools to allow for deeper vision into the network and pro-actively preventing outages.• 24x7 Assurance and On-Call experience where expertise is relied on to bring production services back online in a timely manner. • Mentor new EITs in TELUS' new grad program, fostering growth in a career within IT and security

The National Voice Traffic Engineering team proactively plans and manages network traffic on the TELUS core NGN/VoIP and TDM Voice networks.Responsibilities:Support core NGN/VoIP and TDM networks by utilizing network monitoring and analysis tools to ensure quality of service, and network reliability. Traffic reports generated during the Fort McMurray fires ensured there was enough capacity for all emergency personnel to receive communications. Deployment of new service and technology initiatives with the architecture and planning teams. Optimized voice traffic routes to provide $283K in YTD savings, and $45k in revenue. Monitor, trend and analyze voice traffic on the national voice network for proactive capacity changes and determine impact to the TELUS network. Created trunking orders to resolve network trunk and traffic congestion to ensure quality of service. Preform switch audits to ensure voice routing is in accordance with TELUS Routing Rules and best practices, and aid in the switch automation for more efficiency.

Responsibilities:Facilitate the build of a lab network to create an environment for testing new technologies, and deploying a new architecture topology that created a standard for Innovation Centres across Canada. Provided internal and external tours to showcase current and future services that TELUS may provide. Created a customer scenario for Avaya, Cisco, and Microsoft Lync solutions to assist sales engineers in demonstrating user experience.Host and manage multiple case competitions, incubation programs, data-thons, and hack-a-thons while mentoring student groups throughout the year.
