While working at E&E, I have primarily worked projects at Suncorp as a Senior/Lead Business Analyst or as a Data Systems Analyst. All the projects have been within Data and Enterprise Technology (DET), in either the Banking or Insurance sector. Have joined each project at various stages from inception through to discovery and delivery. The roles were similar in that every project required strong stakeholder management from both a business and a technical perspective. Worked closely with the business and technology teams to elicit and document the requirements. Created stories in Jira with testable and measurable acceptance criteria. Facilitated elaboration sessions to deliver the stories and ensured story/requirement traceability. Worked closely with the data governance team to ensure data was being managed and classified correctly. Worked closely with the testing teams to ensure requirements were being delivered as per the requirements. SDSx Customer Project:Segregated the customer applications and data for bank and insurance, in preparation for selling the bank. Involved in moving the data acquisitions from on-premise to separate clusters in the cloud. The data and applications were split in two (bank and insurance) and migrated to the cloud. Ensured Tableau and other downstream SAS users and Data Science Modellers could use the new applications hosted in the cloud accordingly, depending whether they were bank or insurance. Due to the sensitive nature of the customer data and the need to ensure bank and insurance data could not be accessible by each other, data governance and adherence to the data standard were key to this project being successful. Enterprise Reference Data Management (ERDM):Procure and implement a new Enterprise Reference Data Management (ERDM) tool, initially to cater for the Digital Insurance Program (the new Suncorp Policy admin software (PAS) and processes). Primarily identifying reference data for the PAS, and the rest of the enterprise, specifically vehicle, location, property, pricing and general reference data. Worked closely with the pricing team to capture requirements to migrate their incumbent reference data management tool to the ERDM.

Suncorp Banking Data Warehouse Migration:Lift and shift of the Suncorp Banking Data Warehouse (SDW) from on-premise to AWS on the cloud (to an upgraded Datastage 11.7). Worked with a multitude of source system and downstream stakeholders to ensure that the source systems and downstream applications connected and continued to work as expected. Ensured all Interface Control Documents (ICDs) were updated appropriately.

Data Governance Integration / Migration:The aim was to replace the incumbent centralised data governance tool (Collibra) with a new tool (IGC) such that data and metadata could be automatically loaded from systems such as Netezza, Cognos and Tableau allowing for improved data governance and traceability. Worked with the Product Owner, SME, and solution architect to identify and deliver solution options.

Telephony Refresh Project:Replaced the Avaya Telephony Management system (used throughout Suncorp and the call centres), with a new Genesys Call Management System. Primarily worked with the Product Owner and Business SMEs on the data and data mapping, to ensure existing reporting and analytical capabilities were improved and not compromised.

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS17):During the inception phase worked with a number of SMEs from the business including Finance, Actuaries, and Reinsurance to perform a capability mapping. Also ran a series of workshops with the various business areas to identify, understand, and document all relevant processes, requirements, and touch points, relevant to IFRS17.

GL Reconciliation:Automation of the reconciliation of the Suncorp GL Mart (Data Assets) to the Strategic Assets (Policy, Claims, Life and Bank) to provide confidence to the Auditors that the data is complete and accurate. Involved in the integration of the reconciliation output with Tableau and Cognos reports.

Financial Fitness Insights (FFI) Project:Worked with the Product Owner to define the scope and requirements, ensuring that the FFI stream of work integrated seamlessly with the other marketplace mobile application streams including digital front end. Worked closely with the Data Science team and the technical teams to understand, elaborate and implement the “Dollar Tracker“ used to track and categorise customer spending.

SAS Migration & Decommission of the Insurance Data Warehouse:Worked closely with the actuaries, solution architects and SAS technical team, firstly to enable a SAS platform in the cloud, and secondly to transition the SAS BI code, data and users from on-premise to the cloud platform. Primarily gathered technical requirements, managed stakeholders, user roles and responsibilities, AD groups, training, documentation of new processes and problem resolution, managed cloud license requirements and limitations.

Worked on concurrent projects. The LARS project involved consolidation of all ‘In-Vehicle Monitoring System’ details from the various IVMS providers, while integrating the data with in-house ‘Geographical Informational Systems” into a spatial database and reporting engine. The purpose was to calculate fuel tax credits and other council road rebates worth millions of dollars.The other project, namely the WDMF project, involved the selection of a Software product called WellView to replace two non-supported in-house systems being used for the management of pre-drill well data. The purpose for the replacement solution was to provide a more reliable and centralised database supported by IT.General tasks and activities for both projects included creation of the project charters, business cases, option analyses and business requirements specifications. Worked closely with numerous stakeholders including external vendors, software providers and subject matter experts to understand, elicit and document the relevant detail.

Followed by mapping the entire “To be” Commercial Insurance claims process for both motor and property in ARIS.
