Managed the Accounting organization for Santander Bank, N.A.– one of the country's top retail banks by deposits (over $54B in deposits) and a wholly owned subsidiary of Banco Santander.

Led the Accounting organization through a multi-year Finance Transformation initiative for the North America Accounting function driving the long-term strategic vision for Corporate Accounting. This included continued centralization and standardization of accounting activities, establishing shared service centers, and increasing the organization's global footprint. In addition to managing all accounting close activities for multiple business units, was also responsible for managing North America Accounts Payable, North America Expenses, Accounting and Finance Systems, and Finance Business Continuity.

Managed all accounting functions for two of State Street’s largest divisions; Global Services Americas ($4 Billion in annual revenue from custody and fund administration) and Global Operations &Technology. Team consisted of 65 accountants across multiple locations in North America in addition to over 100 off-shore staff located in India. Led the effort to centralize accounting activities across the organization, standardize across the numerous business units supported, and enhance overall control environment.

Responsible for all finance and accounting functions related to State Street’s Structured Products ($200 Million annual revenue) and Electronic Exchange businesses ($400 Million annual revenue). Specific responsibilities included driving the integration of all finance and accounting functions of a significant corporate acquisition, including accounting systems and general ledger, all M&A accounting, development of SOX controls, re-balancing of staff and compliance with corporate finance policies. Also managed the accounting for the consolidation of a previously off-balance sheet multi-billion dollar asset-backed commercial paper conduit program.

Managed the transformation of several accounting departments to establish a new accounting unit within Freddie Mac’s Single Family Accounting business area focused on the formation, transfer, and guarantee of fixed income securities, specifically mortgage-backed securities. Also led a critical accounting workstream related to Freddie Mac’s Financial Statement Re-Statement efforts where my team developed the systems processes related to a new accounting standard, identified and remediated control weaknesses, supported an SEC investigation, and participated in a significant financial restatement effort.

Initial member of a start-up financial services accounting advisory firm and part of the leadership team that grew the firm with respect to employee base, clients and revenues. Capital Advisory Services provided financial, accounting and business process redesign expertise to Fortune 500 financial service firms.

Responsible for planning audit engagements for large, complex financial service and hospitality clients, including supervising and evaluating audit staff, reviewing audit work paper documentation and financial statements, analyzing audit engagement profit measures, and providing client advisory assistance.
