Led 300 operations employees in a dynamic 24/7 environment. Implemented and oversaw strategic, operational, and administrative programs and productivity projects aimed at delivering improved performance across KPIs in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Growth while facilitating a best-in-class lean manufacturing TPM program.Leading a factory's operations was a favorite role of mine. As with most assignments, it is the people to your left and right that make the experience and my operations team was second to none as we turned obstacles into opportunities and fostered a tight-knit, high-performing unit. We achieved significant milestones, growing weekly production from 54M to a site record of 60M units, maintaining a 99.9% RFT success, and reducing customer complaints by 30%. Our competitive spirit, best-in-class results, high employee engagement, and effective change management solidified the site's reputation for predictability and efficiency.

Guided 160 operations employees in the Coffee Processing and Daytime Packaging Departments through 24/7 operations. Responsible for receiving raw material coffee bean from around the globe, then processing, roasting, and grinding coffee orders. Facilitated an autonomous maintenance program to ensure that manufacturing machines were always able to perform their task for the business and that assigned personnel were always resourced and trained to perform optimally. The department also controlled the production tempo for the site to optimize use of assets and build toward theoretical capacity. All efforts nested under the TPM Pillars of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Growth.This position was the first major business role I held following a Masters in Business Administration program and time in uniformed service. In less than two years the site grew from 46M units per week to 54M units per week, all while utilizing less resources and reducing overall waste by 66%. I learned a great deal about how to lead in a civilian business environment in this role, focusing primarily on leader development, lean implementation, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. I also became proficient in mining data, presenting it clearly as information, and using it to drive decisions that resulted in improved KPIs across all TPM pillars. Many aspects of the department quickly became best-in-class across the network and I am incredibly proud of the stark improvement journey that took place in such a short amount of time.

Served as an Outdoor Guide and Instructor facilitating courses related to Mountaineering, Rock Climbing, Map and Compass Navigation, Wilderness Survival, and Snowshoeing. These course offerings taught participants the skills needed to safely embark on new adventures and employ proper technique for the respective activities. Each course outing required a thorough risk analysis, detailed planning, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions, all while remaining customer-centric and delivering the intended value to all participants. This role directly supported my passion of connecting others to the outdoors and fostering REI's motto that 'A Life Outdoors Is A Life Well Lived'. This was one of the most fun positions I held. I tremendously enjoyed working alongside this team, and it made me further value the REI Co-op and all it represents. I met hundreds of people during my courses and it was rewarding to see many of them become excited about new outdoor opportunities, committing to more time spent outside, and seeing many return for more courses. I sharpened my teaching and instructing skills, verbal communication, risk analysis ability, and resource management throughout this role. I achieved my target of 0 safety issues with participants throughout all the field outings I facilitated and earned all 5 star ratings from participant course surveys.

Created outdoor leadership curriculum and fostered training to develop new outdoor student leaders, and supervised recreational activities in the outdoors. Coached student leaders in the planning process, risk mitigation, and supervision as they learned to lead large groups of peers through various outdoor and organizational activities. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with undergraduate students in sharing my passion for the outdoors. I taught student leaders about outdoor leadership and stewardship of public lands. Students who signed up for activities were typically international students from all around the globe, and I enjoyed making connections, learning more about their cultures, and ensuring that all students felt welcomed and valued at Green River College and during their studies in the United States.

Responsible for providing long-range logistical planning by determining requirements and conducting coordination for maintenance, supply, transportation, and services for an organization with over 4,000 assigned personnel.Logistical planning and distribution were unfamiliar areas having spent many years in operations. This position provided an understanding of supply chain management and its growing global complexity as I planned and coordinated large-scale transportation requirements for personnel and equipment on a global scale.

Directed and developed 173 employees from cross-functional departments through complex training, projects, and tasks spanning daily operations and long-range organizational efforts. Accounted for vehicles and organizational equipment valued in excess of $59 million, maintained responsibility for the overall readiness of assigned personnel, and led the organization through multiple executive level training events across the western United States.Serving as a commander instilled a passion for organizational leadership, mentoring subordinates, and building highly efficient teams. I learned that there is a stark contrast between managing and leading, and honed my leadership style through 16 months of high tempo work while balancing multiple operational efforts simultaneously. Having reached the echelon of leadership in which one must message an organization through guidance and intent, I also learned to relinquish control and trust subordinates through shared understanding and a common operating picture.

Served as the Deputy Operations Officer for an organization consisting of over 4,000 personnel. Assisted in the advisement of training concepts, framework operations, and synchronizing subordinate organizations. Edited and published operations orders that provided direction for subordinate elements, maintained the operations calendar, and served as the conduit for executive level intent to be communicated across the breadth of the organization.Holding the position of Deputy Operations Officer was a true test in time management, long-range strategic planning, and the timely synchronization of assets and resources. I became proficient at the development of organizational systems and processes, and learned to supervise many multi-disciplinary teams responsible for simultaneous strategic initiatives.

Served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox. Assumed responsibility for the administrative and logistical requirements to support daily operations and transportation, routing correspondence and guidance to adjacent and subordinate elements, and orchestrating events requiring the deputy commander's presence. Serving as an Aide-de-Camp was the most developmental position I have held. I was fortunate enough to be close with an executive leader who taught me methods of critical thinking and strategic planning usually learned significantly later in a professional career. I also learned how crucial it is for personal and professional development to maintain a mentor, particularly one who taught intangible lessons through personal example. This position inspired me to lead and care for others with the same level of leadership and care I received.

Led an organization of 39 employees in a volatile area of Afghanistan and maintained responsibility for the training and discipline of the organization. Prioritized resources to accomplish assigned tasks and meet the organization's vision, mission, and intent. Accounted for assigned inventory items and oversaw the maintenance of all assets. As a junior leader on the ground in the midst of action, I learned how to lead small teams and earn trust. Serving as a Platoon Leader planted a life-long passion for leading others. Having led the organization overseas in a volatile environment taught decision-making under uncertainty, maintaining composure and confidence during stressful situations, and putting others before self in a way that no other experience could have offered.

Served as the personal representative of the Battalion Commander to the higher headquarters. Ensured a timely flow of information and clear line of communication between host and parent organizations. Routed correspondence, briefed executive leaders, and requested resources and assets from the higher headquarters. Supervised the fielding and shipping of new equipment between geographically dispersed regions of Afghanistan to increase the unit's capabilities and informed the respective commanders of any significant activities or directives that could impact operations.Serving as a Liaison Officer in garrison and overseas proved to be a formative role that prepared me for leading a platoon. In this junior level position, I learned the importance of professionalism, attention to detail, articulating key information in a clear and concise manner, and professional dialogue spanning all forms of communication. Working in an operations center with brigade level leaders taught me what was most important to the organization and ultimately focused my efforts as a Platoon Leader in executing commander's intent and prioritizing what information to report during operations.

Assigned to a basic training company to serve as the second-in-command of the unit and assumed responsibility for the logistical support of the organization. Accountable for overseeing the utilization and maintenance of vehicles and organizational equipment, as well as planning and resourcing administrative operations.This was the first active duty position I held in the U.S. Army following commissioning and initial officer training. This unit trained nearly 220 new recruits at a time, and demanded a high degree of accuracy in logistical support spanning items such as land resources, supplies, food, transportation, and continuous maintenance. I worked alongside professional Non-Commissioned Officers, serving as Drill Sergeants, who displayed professionalism and dedication on a daily basis exemplifying what makes our Army the best.

Responsible for analyzing, planning, and executing lead generation activities to support the annual recruiting mission and accomplish assigned quantitative objectives. Conducted daily telephone and area prospecting to include referral and internet leads, and maintained close coordination with high school, college, and community officials to implement and conduct a variety of Army recruiting and awareness programs.I held this position between graduating and commissioning from Widener University's Army ROTC program and moving to Fort Benning, GA to begin the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course. Having a fresh perspective of what it takes to be an efficient Army ROTC cadet, I aided the cadre in finding quality candidates from the local area to become future commissioned officers.
