Keith L. McLane, BAS, is one of the country’s preeminent fundraising auctioneers, special appeal/fund-a-need experts, and event-based fundraising educators. Since founding KLM Auctions in 1995, he has specialized in organizing and conducting fundraising auctions for schools, charities, and nonprofit groups from Honolulu to New York City. Based in Northern California, KLM Auctions manages an expert team of auctioneers who collectively consult on and perform over 200 events/year. Keith frequently serves as a featured speaker to groups of fundraising professionals, and is also one of only twenty auctioneers in California to have achieved the National Auctioneers Association’s Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) designation.Prior to stepping into the Benefit/Fundraising Auction business full-time, Mr. McLane co-founded West Coast Home Auctions, which he sold to Auction.com in 2007. He then served as the President of its Builder Division, where his primary responsibilities were to oversee the firm’s business development efforts, pre-auction marketing campaigns, and auction-day sales activity.Leading up to his most recent experience in the real estate auction industry, Mr. McLane was the Director of Land Acquisition for the Northern California division of Richmond American Homes, and he managed numerous engagements with Ernst & Young (formerly EY Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group).Mr. McLane holds an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA, a BA in History from UCSB, and is a graduate of the world-renowned Missouri Auction School. He is a bonded auctioneer and has been a licensed real estate broker in the state of CA since 1993.
