I primarily focused on CalRecycle's implementation of FisCal (Hyperion/Peoplesoft). This involved working with stakeholders at the Department of Finance, and budget owners, and system users within CalRecycle to understand business processes, and develop ways of mapping the pre-defined (and evolving) FisCal capabilities to meet those processes.In addition, due to limited reporting capabilities in the FisCal implementation, I coded a variety of reports, using the then-open SQL access, to enable the Budget and Accounting departments to meet their legal reporting obligations.My budgetary obligations, which in the private sector would be seen as an FP&A role, was for developing the annual $4B budget for CalRecycle, and collaborating with the budget owners on execution to budget.

Successfully executed the transition of Virtutech to Intel and Wind River (we cut the baby in half). Completed all transition activities per budget and timeframe.

Drove the finance function from nothing (re-cap, but no books and nobody in the finance role) to successful exit by way of sale to Intel in 2010.Built the licensing infrastructure, from custom government contracts to a simplified, integrated click-through. Owned all legal affairs for the company; exited with no legal issues per acquirer.

Rebuilt the financials for the company in Quickbooks, then migrated to Netsuite.Took over the Merchandising function when complexity exceeded the current system; built a data warehouse and information system automating the merchandising process with an intelligent system.
