I’m the co-founder at Watch Hill Financial, a financial planning and wealth management firm located in Richmond, Virginia. Previously, I was at Irongate Capital in Richmond, VA, and I ran the Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) program as Deputy Director and Acting Director. Before joining the PIF program, I was COO of Rock Health, where I managed Rock Health's internal operations and worked closely with our portfolio companies to ensure each team was connected to strategic partners and provided the resources they needed to meet their milestones. I was the co-founder of a company in the Rock Health portfolio called Kinsights (https://kinsights.com), an advice-sharing community for parents integrated with a pediatric health record. Kinsights was one of Rock Health's first investments and it was acquired by Care.com (NYSE: CRCM) in December 2015.Before starting Kinsights, I worked at a variety of companies both large and small. My technical leadership at CEB (now Gartner) helped organize mountains of industry research. I was the first front-end developer hired at Viget Labs, a full-service interactive agency, creating websites for startups and corporate clients. My first job out of college was at L3 Communications, working on various media projects ranging from video editing to print design for various military contracts. The highlight of my time at L3 Communications was joining the Army.mil web team doing front-end and back-end development.I graduated from James Madison University with a degree from the School of Media Arts and Design with a concentration in interactive media. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my wife and son, building spreadsheets, and scoring baseball games. I’ve also enjoyed teaching classes in web design and development at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University in Washington, D.C., and at General Assembly in San Francisco.

In June 2011, Rock Health started as a digital health accelerator and welcomed its first class of startups. Our company Kinsights (known as WeSprout at the time) was a member of the first cohort and during the six month program we built the product from an idea into a functional app. We launched the product at a demo day where we pitched to an auditorium full of angel investors and venture capitalists. Beyond the first batch of startups, the Kinsights team worked out of Rock Health's office to mentor/support other accelerator classes and participate in Rock Health events. In 2014, Rock Health started a venture fund and moved away from the accelerator model, but the Kinsights team continued to be an active participant in the Rock Health community.
