Upon arrival, I knew no one in the country, and didn’t speak the language. However, while in Japan I created a successful small enterprise, and co-founded a regional networking group. In my free time, I read about urban planning topics, specifically affordable housing. In Mayor Sylvester Turner’s 2016 inaugural address he spoke of the need to build more workforce and affordable housing. His caution that Houston should not become two cities in one: a city of haves and have-nots, [of well-housed and ill-housed] resonated with me. Development that addresses the lack of quality affordable housing and green space must advance if Houston is to become a world-class city.Skills that I bring to my endeavors include:Project Management, Research/Analysis, Creating and giving presentationsLeadership, Problem Solving, Event ManagementClient relations, Strategic thinking, Communication Creativity
