CurrentJETRO is a government agency that promotes trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world by providing information and resources through a network of offices in 54 countries.• Identify, and establish relationships with U.S. companies that are seeking trade partners, and looking to establish operations in Japan. Currently managing a portfolio of 30+ companies.• Assess U.S. businesses’ needs, advise, counsel, and provide market development resources to facilitate technological exchange, export, and foreign direct investment. • Collaborate with economic development organizations (Office of the Governor, Economic Development & Tourism Division; U.S. Department of Commerce; Greater Houston Partnership; Dallas & Austin Chambers of Commerce, and other entities.)• Research market conditions, international trade shows, potential trade partners, investment subsidies, export opportunities, and other resources. Develop and disseminate information in monthly newsletters, memos, and other communications.• Coordinate the “J-Bridge” program that encourages operational and financial collaboration between American and Japanese startups. U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo emphasized the significance of the J-Bridge platform as a mechanism that can facilitate partnerships and harness the combined power of our two countries' industries.
