In this role, I was fully embedded into the development team and worked on creating command line scripts that would automatically run scheduled third-party REST API requests and save those responses into a CSV file that would later be used for automating much of our shipping data across the customer's post purchase experience. I regularly performed feature enhancements, requested updates, and routine maintenance on many of our in-house intranet applications used through-out the company. More recently, I took on the task of re-orienting our account holder's reward points system to prepare it to be moved over to a third-party vendor and worked closely with multiple teams to integrate everything into our current customer journey and experience. Other notable accomplishments are the complete redesign and rebranding of our child company, Blaze Grills, WordPress site, devising and implementing a new site theme uniquely targeting our Pro account holders, a full overhaul of our dynamic menu system.

I create, build, and improve upon the existing UI/UX modules and design patterns that are used across the many high-volume ShoppersChoice.com network of e-commerce sites. I work continuously across the Marketing department and Web Development team to optimize and improve the frontend (page-load times, user expectations, conversion rates, etc.) to help poise the brand for positive growth internally and externally. I am constantly working to improve many key metrics, including conversion rate, average order value, bounce rates, and return visits. I create positive user experiences through A/B multivariate testing and a strict adherence of best-practice policies and industry standard conventions—except where noted and with defendable reasons. I also perform routine ADA Compliance audits and work to insure our code works across all supported browsers, devices, viewports, and supported client features and provide any necessary fallbacks otherwise. I always attempt to write clean, self-documenting code to decrease the cognitive load incurred for the next developer and to make it easier for less tech-savvy employees to better understand how our code uses our business rules to translate data into what appears on the frontend.

Transitioned over to the Web Development team to assist with finalizing the responsiveness and mobile-specific updates. Once completed, I further devised effective methods and techniques for many remaining mobile issues and worked toward educating our internal teams on best-practices in implementing these solutions. Also began deep dives into setting up a proper Analytics platform using our existing Analytics and implementing Google Tag Manager. Began efforts to optimize our page load speeds and was able to lower the average time by over 2.5 seconds. Additionally, worked with multiple stakeholders to create many new custom-built frontend components.

Was hired into the Marketing department to work alongside the Web Development team to manage, optimize, and improve the frontend of 166+ e-commerce web sites. This involved auditing the entire frontend and devising a plan to easily allow it to scale with our rapid growth. Major steps included, defining consistent styles that adhere to each site's branding; consolidate all existing stylesheets and move all inline styles to the appropriately scoped stylesheet; create a DRY reusable frontend framework; create and implement a highly flexible, yet consistently reliable layout grid with easy to use naming conventions for the class names; and breaking out custom components into reusable abstracts with varying levels of customization. I was also responsible for initiating, defining, and implementing the responsiveness of our sites and making them mobile-ready for the inevitable future of mobile e-commerce.

Re-branded Boost Contact as well as 5 other sister-companies to be more accessible and appear to be a trustworthy and national level organization. Restructured the Boost website to more clearly represent their services thereby doubling the visitor to client conversion rate. Additionally, re-skinned and customized a WordPress theme for a highly read blog which had to also be accessible as a certified news provider for Google’s news feeds.

Also, fully implemented the first commercial instantiation of said CMS by working directly with a client. Assisted the firm in re-structuring their homepage features and news feeds to appropriately grab the attention of site visitors while providing them with a simple call-to-action method.

Created a faster and more e client workflow by creating a self-applicating framework that incorporates the 960 grid system, jQuery, jQuery UI, and the @font-face font embedding technique into ASP.net masterpage templates.

Created and coded multiple interactive Flash-based web application modules that essentially were re-usable shells that could be configured and customized via external XML data that could be easily tied into their custom Content Management System. This allowed for Redstick Internet to not only meet the needs of their existing clients, but anticipate the needs of future clients within those particular industries.

Responsible for the creative and technical deliverables of all web design/development projects for new and pre-existing client websites as well as largely assisted in generating pricing and timelines for new proposals . Additionally worked on the creatives for several large branding and advertising campaigns and produced many high-end client projects ranging in mediums, from trade show booths to print ads, from product packaging to large vehicle fleet wraps. Initiated the update of the firm's print presentation portfolio and created the print mechanicals, to scale, of over a decade of successful client work.
