I spoke with a few colleagues about the idea, and a few months, we had a first version on the Apple App Store.Because we had to work on this outside of our normal office hours, we had to prioritise all the work, and try and determine what would the minimum viable product would be.We went through a few iterations of the application architecture. Trying to find an effective way of writing a chat system on the iPhone between multiple devices and platforms ended up being tricky, but we came up with a nice solution using a Ruby on Rails backed API. -
