With many years of experience in PR, advertising, marketing, and high-tech acquired over some exciting stops on a long world tour, I have now returned to my roots in Birmingham UK. Prior to this I was based in Beijing China and active in Corporate Communications. 12+ years in China on a foreign expert work permit included in-house PR management and Executive speech writing with IBM and Oracle covering China and more broadly the APAC region. PR Agency roles providing strategy and content creation covered a wide range of clients such as Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, British Petroleum, and Mindray, China's leading medical devices provider. With the firm belief that PR must be a business enabler, I balance a strong technical background in many fields with the ability to communicate effectively across a range of peer levels and cultures, expressing thought leadership and business value that engages a clearly identified target audience.Prior to China, I had the privilege of spending 10 fascinating years in San Francisco and Silicon Valley in high-tech marketing, advertising, multimedia, internet metrics, and international business development. This included founding the Kemarra Corporation focusing on international business development. Previous international experience includes residence in London, Berlin, and Paris, as well as New York. I am fluent in French and German, and currently unraveling the mysteries of the Chinese language, recently marking a milestone with passing HSK level 3. I hold dual UK and American citizenship. An enthusiastic presenter to large and small audiences, I have given numerous business presentations including 'Building strong brands in the new China' for a University of Pittsburgh program in Beijing, and guest lectures at Santa Clara University and Golden Gate University in California. I also organized and moderated an eight-part seminar series on international business in conjunction with the US Department of Commerce in San Francisco. When I post on LinkedIn, the views expressed are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of any of my employers past or present.
