Own design and development of crankshaft, main bearings, rod bearings, damper, thrust washer, and position target wheel for both the High-Output (HO) & Standard-Output (SO) 3.0L Inline-6 Twin Turbo “Hurricane” engines, delivering 15% better MPG, more horsepower and torque, as well as better fuel economy and fewer emissions than naturally-aspirated V8s of the same power output.Solved numerous technical challenges in realms of design, testing, and manufacturing, including but not limited to: dynamics, mass-elastic system analysis, reliability growth and life, variation simulation analysis, tribology, etc. Lead design, sourcing, and manufacturing reviews to develop and maintain open issues lists, and report out to senior leadership at milestone reviews.

- Working in small 8-man team tasked with the development of process and design of a half billion dollar facility.- Steady and unsteady heat transfer calculations for facility systems. E.g. product heat-up, product cool-down. Typical order of magnitude: 1M BTU/hr.- Relief valve sizing calculations, primarily heat exchangers.- Large (200,000L) WFI Hot & Ambient distribution system design, including hydraulics analysis.- Process waste collection and treatment P&ID design.- Equipment specification and datasheet creation.- Fill line and finish design study handling several different product forms and at customer specific production speeds.- Feasibility studies.- Quality checks.

Took lead on the process equipment-list for an overseas biological pharmaceuticals facility. Developed specification packages for specific pieces of equipment. Cryogenic Millimeter-wave Detector for MUSTANG BolometerDesigned a heat sink apparatus that increased the heat removal from a CCD (light sensing chip) that needed to be kept at a temperature near absolute zero. The device was used to look at cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB).

General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) LabDesigned an integrated user interface that controlled the movements of a PR-2 Robot through use of the Xbox 360's Kinect camera, accelerometers, and electromechanical devices to integrate the user and robot's hand motions. Also, improved research and presentation skills through monitoring and participating in weekly workshops and seminars.
