Keith Sigfred Ancheta, LPT, MSc (he/him/his) is a researcher, educator, and advocate based in Quezon City, Philippines. He recently finished his Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of the Philippines Diliman and was a recipient of the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program scholarship from the Department of Science and Technology. His master's thesis focused on the characterization and profiling of a novel streptomycete species. During his graduate studies, he also performed in silico studies on molecular epidemiology and phylogeny of zoonotic microorganisms. He currently serves as a Philippine representative to the Board of Directors of the Asian Society of Natural Products (ASNP) and as the Public Relations Officer of the ASNP Philippine Chapter.Prior to his graduate studies, Keith got his Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education majoring in Biological Sciences at Saint Louis University, Baguio City in 2019. He finished as a Cum Laude and received the Academic Excellence in Science and Technology Award from the Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute. In his fourth year, Keith underwent a one-month pre-service teaching exchange program by SEAMEO at the Universitas Jambi in Indonesia.Outside the scientific academia, Keith is an active advocate for climate justice, volunteering as a Youth Cluster Coordinator of the Climate Reality Philippines and a Mentor for the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. He has led several projects on youth involvement in CCAM, climate policymaking, and artivism. Since 2020, he has been invited to talk at seminars and training locally, nationally, and internationally.
