Keith Suckling was until January 2006 the Director and Head of Department of Atherosclerosis Research in the CVU CEDD at GlaxoSmithKline. He has 20 years experience in the field of atherosclerosis, vascular biology and lipid metabolism in industry and before that 14 years experience in academic research. He has published over 100 papers in the field and holds the degree of Doctor of Science for distinction in this research. He was a member of the R&D Committee of the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industries for 7 years. Another major interest is science education. He is now consulting for the pharmaceutical industry and for universities.
