Created highly functional and performing database solutions and redesigned existing database solutions to meet all business requirements and increase performance, reliability and security. Developed data models for both Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) systems.Key projects:• Served as project lead in the completion of a data warehouse for a large healthcare company. Created multiple analytic cubes to speed up the process of getting information to various decision support applications and users. • Redesigned an online transactional processing system for a consumer credit reporting application to be able to handle 10,000+ transactions a day. Reduced the time to complete an order from 19 seconds to under 2 seconds.• Architected an enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) solution to integrate data from multiple systems.• Documented dataflow processes to help performance, reduce duplication of data and increase availability for decision support applications. • Implemented best practices & standards around data modeling.

Successful development and production DBA working with both VLDBs (very large database) and smaller databases that served as the backend to many web sites. Key projects:• Worked with SAN administrators to design cost efficient and agile storage solutions that also provided high availability for critical business applications.• Developed, tested and implemented disaster recovery plans for mission critical data and applications• Worked with developers to create index strategies that provided great performance without negative impact to data creation procedures• Ensured that data was backed up to multiple different media and that all copies of the data were restorable.• Designed user data security based on company policies using a combination of Windows security and SQL Server logins
