Since 1985 I have been a financial advisor specializing in estate and charitable tax planning and have also earned the Master Financial Advisor-Philanthropy (MFA-P™️) designation. At CI Private Wealth, my partners and I offer highly specialized wealth management services to a select number of high net worth Canadian families. Having been involved with the nonprofit sector on a number of levels since the early 1990's, this continues to be the most significant motivation for the work I do with 10% of all income redirected towards a variety of charitable causes.As former Chair of the African Medical Research Foundation in Canada (AMREF), I often travelled to Africa to oversee and participate in their programs and initiatives. It was during those visits that I searched for a connection between my skills as a financial planner and a desire to amplify my philanthropic impact back home. This is how I became involved with The Donor Motivation Program®. Here was my opportunity to work with many more donors multiplying the impact of my philanthropic knowledge and experience throughout the country. As the director of The Donor Motivation Program® in Canada, my colleagues and I across the country consult to dozens of nonprofit organizations to create new planned gifts and increase existing ones.Through The Donor Motivation Program® I have been able to assist entrepreneurs, professionals and retirees to save and redirect to those causes that are deeply meaningful to them over $50 million of their "social capital"- also known as taxes. I have the honour of leading a team, with my partner Serena Hak, of 15 philanthropic consultants across Canada. Our collective goal is to redirect $1 billion dollars towards the charitable sector in Canada.
