As a Psychology graduate and current MSc student in Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology, I believe balancing part-time (or full-time) work alongside studies is challenging but possible. Having a job during college provides valuable experience and skills that make you more competitive after graduation. Any job, even if unrelated to your field, can offer essential on-the-job training, making you stand out in interviews with skills like teamwork, public speaking, time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, motivation, and adaptability. Competence gained from experience builds confidence and sets you apart from others when seeking opportunities. In an interview, out of 100 CVs with the same hard skills, you have to stand out.
