Profile bio

About Karen Kelleher

I lead BlueHub Loan Fund, a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) that connects low-income communities, many of them communities of color, with flexible financing to generate equitable and inclusive economic opportunity. We finance a wide range of real estate–related projects such as housing, education and childcare facilities, health centers, community facilities and grocery stores. Prior to that, I led Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) Boston's work assisting community development corporations (CDCs) and other public and private entities working to create and sustain healthy communities. Before joining LISC, I served as Deputy Director at MassHousing, leading the housing finance agency's multifamily and single family lending business. I am a recovering affordable housing lawyer, and previously worked with The Community Builders, Inc., Nixon Peabody LLC and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. And last but not least, I started my career at Nativity Preparatory School, teaching boys from low-income Boston families.
