History of Art and Architecture

Working with Katherine Jentleson, curatorial mentor in Folk/ Self- Taught art to gain better understanding of the field of curatorial studies. Attending monthly sessions with the curator to shadow their work at the museum as well as engaging with other fellows. The fellowship includes a ten week summer internship at the High Museum of art gaining hands on experience and practical application of art historical knowledge.

As a curatorial intern, I was able to work with the curators of Asian, African, and Contemporary art. I was primarily responsible for research, but had the opportunity to write and present my work. I most valued the experience of engaging with the art on a conceptual and critical level that allowed me to assess the strength of an exhibition. Each project allowed me to see a different aspect of curating from conception and acquisition to the actual installation.
