My role at InVue is leading the Global Quality and Test Engineering organizations that support New Product Development and Mass Production. The top Quality objective was to reduce customer facing issues by 30% and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality by 40%. This was achieved with a Supplier Quality surveillance / audit program for mass production and a strong New Product Development process, each with an emphasis on strict compliance to their requirements. InVue operates state-of-the-art Test Engineering labs in the US and China to monitor and verify that products meet their requirements and ensure that their contract manufacturers processes remained compliant to their control plans .

My primary responsibility was the leadership and development of a multi-site team of Quality professionals who implemented and maintained technical quality assurance, control systems and continual improvement activities. This vision was achieved through a matrix with engineering, supply chain, and the operations teams. We created several Centers of Excellence that defined and specified the implementation of standards, methods, and processes and we constantly audited those processes. The COEs facilitated supplier management as well as the inspection, test, and evaluation of the precision, accuracy, and reliability of the world-class products that we manufactured. Our mission was to exceed customer and company quality goals/objectives through the effective implementation of our corporate Quality Management System.

My role in Global Logistics at Avnet, Inc. was to lead the strategic planning and day-to-day support activities of the Quality Assurance department for both the distribution business and the value-add systems integration business in the Americas. Our primary customers were the OE manufacturers for the Defense/Aerospace, Automotive, EMS, Medical, and Storage/Network industries. The Logistics Quality group was comprised of six cross-functional teams distributed across four locations that drove customer satisfaction through a determined focus on Supplier Quality, Quality Systems, Continual Improvement, Production/Manufacturing Quality, Training, Documentation, Inspection Services and Environmental Compliance. The diversity of our customer base required us to maintain certifications at multiple locations; ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS 9100C, ISO 13485, and ANSI S 20.20.

Led the Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Test & Reliability Engineering, and the Technical Product Support departments in Arizona and China. By utilizing DFM, DFT, DFQ and DFR, and actively managing our suppliers, we were able to increase production yields from 94% to 99.6%, reduce field failures from 5-6% to 0.2% and maintain those levels for over 7 years. Those improvements returned over $1.5MM to the bottom line.Developed and expanded our Supplier Quality Engineering Rep office in Dongguan City, China to support the manufacturing of high-volume AC/DC and DC/DC consumer and industrial electronics power products.
