I collaborated with registered dietitians and culinary services to accurately implement prescribed diet orders and dietary restrictions and supported the culinary team in managing dietary accommodations, utilizing nutrition knowledge to assist as needed. In this position, I utilized MS Office Suite and email to communicate effectively with dietitians and therapists regarding important patient information. I maintained a calendar and several Excel spreadsheets to track important dates such as deadlines, meal experiences, and patient intakes and discharges. I assisted dietitians in creating, organizing, and facilitating patient group classes including nutrition and culinary education. I also provided support to patients while filling out their weekly menu selections, and after completion, selections were organized and delivered to the hospital kitchen staff in a timely manner. The health and safety of our patients required exceptional attention to detail, team collaboration and the ability to practice good judgement and discretion.
