Karen oversaw Lux Capital’s financial reporting and analytics, legal and compliance, audit and tax, human relations, and IT, as well as provided assistance with investor relations and marketing. In addition, Karen provided industry expertise and assisted in Lux Capital’s strategic initiatives.

Karen Eliadis was the Chief Financial Officer of BlueRun Ventures, with offices in the U.S., Korea and China. She joined the firm in 2007 and was based in the Menlo Park office. Karen was the Director of Finance of Sofinnova Ventures, a venture capital firm with over $1 billion under management. • Developed highly-praised fundraising due diligence package, prepared all financial components of PPM and pitch book, and assisted in generating new partnership documents• Analyzed proposed multi-tranche U.S. and European financings, including terms, structure, cap tables, and pre/post money, reviewed legal documents, and coordinated with company and counsel• Initiated comprehensive liquidation and exit scenario (M & A and IPO) analyses, including evaluation of potential tax treatments of earn-outs, escrow, and milestone payments• Established U.S. and international tax planning and international compliance processes, worked with outside tax counsel on complex fund structure and transfer issues, and prepared tax analyses which shortened K-1 delivery time and reduced fees• Introduced quarterly portfolio metrics analysis to evaluate company, partner, sector and fund performance

Save Mount Diablo's mission is to preserve Mount Diablo's peaks, surrounding foothills and watersheds through land acquisition and preservation strategies designed to protect the mountain's natural beauty, biological diversity and historic and agricultural heritage; enhance our area's quality of life; and provide recreational opportunities consistent with protection of natural resources. Working on Save Mount Diablo's board and as volunteer CFO was both rewarding and educational.

Director of Finance for All-Pure Chemical, a consumer and industrial products company (acquired by Olin) with eleven manufacturing facilities and revenues of $100 million.• Reported directly to the President and managed a staff of 20• Led due-diligence and carveout of a $50 million business line• Analyzed plant and product line performance to evaluate pricing, acquisitions and dispositions, resulting in the decision to sell non-contributing lines and to modify product pricing structure• Responsible for wide-ranging financial functions including acquisition and divestiture projects, long-range strategic planning, regulatory filings, product costing, and plant systems implementation

Divisional Controller for Kenetech, a developer and provider of environmentally preferred electric power provider, principally in wind, biomass, and natural gas• Key contributor to successful $100 million IPO and issuance of $100m preferred depository shares • Business team member for a $600 million joint venture, which included tax research, document review, establishing accounting and operational controls, and financial reporting• Responsible for accounting, reporting, strategic planning, forecasting and financial guidance for division and two wholly-owned subsidiaries• Supervised a staff of 10 in three locations, and had dotted line reporting to three presidents
