Hello there! I am currently a application developer at Zirous, Inc. I graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Computer Engineering in December 2022.When I was growing up, my favorite things to play with were building LEGOs and playing on my dad's computer. If someone had to guess what my career would be based off my five year old's interests, I think engineer would have been the guess. As I went through school, that guess would turn into an answer. I learned I loved math especially and enjoyed anything that related to problem solving. My senior year of high school was when I found I also greatly enjoyed programming.When I first came to ISU, I immediately fell in love with Java as a programming language. Completing homework assignments and projects excited me because working through those problems always ended in a logical solution. Java just made sense to me. However, I think I enjoyed understanding a programming language thoroughly instead of the language itself.After getting some experience in web development using ReactJS, I realized I had truly found my niche. Frontend development allowed me to be creative with my solutions while still writing complex and efficient code. It was the first time where I was able to see my design and code come to life in a sense. It was no longer a Java program running an AI for a simple game or a script that told a robot to navigate an obstacle, but instead a product that I could see being used and enjoyed in a real world situation.My specialty is front end development in ReactJS. I am proficient in Java, JavaScript (Node.Js, Redux), Python, and C with a baseline knowledge of C# and C++. I am familiar with agile software methodologies using Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
