I recently told my wife that education was plan B while I was in college. Plan A was to tour around the U.S. with my band. As I fall further way from being the drummer in the next rock band, I am realizing that my love for technology plus education can do some amazing things for the world's next generation. After eight years in the public school classroom, I now work for Orange County Public Schools as a district resource teacher. I help support Orange County's 60+ digital 1:1 schools (and all the rest) with professional development to increase technology implementation and student achievement. Jump to 2019 and I started a position with AdventHealth as a Training Analyst. My position has changed a lot over the 5 years that I have been in this position but in short, I am part of a team that is responsible for logistics around new hospital acquisition and new hospital builds. I have been surprised at the similarities with education and healthcare. Education is needed everywhere, but it also needs to be easy to understand and accessible.
