As a kid I fell in love with sports. When I started playing sports, I quickly learned that I was a very competitive person. As my love and passion for sports continued to grow, I learned that dedication, discipline, determination, and hard work were necessary to hone my skills. I also developed a "no quit/can do" attitude. To this day, that same mindset and competitive fire pushes me to give my all in every phase of my life.My passion for sports was a motivating factor that greatly influenced my educational pursuits at Liberty University. I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations in 2008. Later in 2017, I completed my Master's of Science in Marketing with a concentration in Sport Marketing and Media.After my days of playing competitive sports had ended, I found a new love for organized sports as a coach. In 2009, I began my coaching career as an Assistant Varsity Girl's basketball coach. I'll admit the first couple years were rough, however, our teams continued to work hard and got better with each passing season. I learned many valuable lessons about success and failure during those first couple seasons. One of the biggest lessons I learned is that I despise losing more than I love winning. Being a coach has given me a new perspective on how successes and failures can shape a young persons life, as they did mine. Developing young people to be better athletes, but more importantly better people, is one of the greatest joys I've had as a coach.During the last ten years of my professional career, I have spent the majority in various roles within higher education. Most of my time has been spent working with students in the admissions stage of the enrollment process. In two other roles, Point of Contact and Workforce Manager, I've been able to act as a liaison for students on their behalf between them and academic departments. As their liaison, I learned a great deal about communication and was able to facilitate conversations that often lead to a positive outcome for the student. Having a direct impact on the student's educational experience was one of the highlights of my job.I have also spent time as a Project Manager for a direct mail marketing company. In this role, I learned the importance of time management, multi-tasking, and staying on budget to ensure my client's projects were completed on time and to their satisfaction.
