Lab Technician InternAgsource Jun 2012 - Jan 2013Menomonie WiConducted Johnes and PCR tests on milk samples in the lab. I took milk samples submitted by customers and prepared and tested the samples for Johnes disease. I also assisted in running bacterial identification tests on milk samples using PCR. I learned how to work as a scientist in an industrial setting, which included the improvement of the accuracy and precision of my pipetting and other laboratory testing skills. I also learned how to manage large amounts of test data and how to double check myself to avoid making errors when recording data. I gained experience working on a team, helping where needed when work was slow, and developed an understanding of how to behave as a professional in the workplace.
