Architectural intern and researcher focusing in the development of a highly efficient, super insulating, structural insulated panel system called BioSIPs. My work focuses on research and development, company startup, and integration of BioSIP technology into mainstreaming architecture and construction industries. The overall goal of the BioSIP project is create a high performance building material derived from landfill destined waste fiber sources that can be used in residential, commercial, and industrial building applications.Architectural design focusing on environmental residential design and renewable energy architecture; construction documentation and specifications for development of BioSIP building material for patenting and manufacturing as a building product with Professor Julee Herdt, architect, A.I.A. Research through development of prototype panel designs through physical and computer modeling, material testing, manufacturing process studies, research of SIP technologies, interaction with consultants and potential investors, and working with Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Co-inventor on June 2007 provisional patent for BioSIP system and will be filing for a utility patent. Also collaborating with Herdt on the design of a prototype research structure and “Serial Box©” residence showcasing newly developed BioSIPs integrated with other green technologies and strategies.
