Deliver courses in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) teaching the fundamentals of drawing interpretation to the application and analysis of advanced tolerancing schemes. Contract position providing drawing checking, engineering design process improvements, tolerance analysis, and mentoring in the application of GD&T to hydrogen fuel cell assemblies used for Daimler automotive applications.• Identified issues caused by incomplete/unclear vendor part requirements specifications. Developed layout modeling technique incorporating Model Based Definition/Product and Manufacturing Information (MBD/PMI) annotations in the 3D modelling environment. The technique enables GD&T to be created and verified earlier in design, focusing efforts on key characteristics and allowing manufacturing, tooling design and QC to address issues impacting quality and cost prior to prototyping. This reduces design iterations, shortens vendor negotiations, and provides more accurate estimates.

Implemented engineering documentation standards used in the design of fuel cell products. Checked drawings, reviewed designs, made recommendations and resolved issues. Mentored and trained employees in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis. Developed prototype fuel processing equipment for reforming natural gas to hydrogen for use in 250 kW stationary fuel cell power plant. Drawings produced to be in compliance with ASME Section VIII Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

Design and detailing of flakers, stranders, blenders and log in-feed systems used in the manufacture of engineered wood products. Emphasis was on continuous product improvement through the development of innovative ideas and manufacturing methods. Thorough knowledge of fabrication, machining techniques and tolerancing methods was required. Prepared quotations for contract proposals. Produced drawings using AutoCAD, Computervision Personal Designer and SolidWorks. • Coordinated a team of volunteers that studied and made recommendations on improving interdepartmental communications.

Temporary position to develop hydraulic winch system for the operation of a sonar tow-fish used on the Rockwell Dolphin unmanned submarine. Primary responsibility was to design the capture mechanism for the tow-fish. Successfully completed the conceptual design and developed a working prototype within four weeks.
