Acquired skill as a technical instructor; developed and delivered three courses related to this core competency enabling engineers to apply newly acquired skills on the job.•Introduced Dimensional Management (DM) strategy incorporating tolerance analysis to identify and eliminate tolerancing problems, as well as enable interdepartmental input for the development and verification of specifications.•Worked with quality inspectors to ensure part evaluations were in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards, reviewed data to determine part acceptance and assisted with the interpretation of CMM reporting. Identified an incorrect measurement method when QC was experiencing a high rate of non-conforming parts. A new procedure was developed and all parts were found to be conforming to the functional requirement.•Investigated Pro/Engineer Tolerance Analysis Extension to test the software’s ability to perform tolerance stacks using all geometric tolerances. Software required incorporation of 3D modeling annotation features to perform the analysis. Made recommendations based on results.•Created data sheet archiving system for integration with Product Lifecycle Management software which resulted in reduced time spent sourcing vendor product data.
