Provide leadership, strategic direction, and support for the development, assessment, and evaluation of the Discovery and Metadata areas, including acquisitions, collection strategies, metadata, and discovery. Responsible for facilitating collections optimization in collaboration Libraries Administration, and the liaisons' group. Serve as a coordinator of the Libraries collections budget with Acquisitions, E-resources & Serials, and Libraries Administration; in addition to leading the technical services operations in the context of trends in digital scholarship, open access, and our role in next-generation resource discovery systems.The position provides leadership in areas of copyright and fair use as they apply to collections and resource sharing and; works collaboratively with OCL staff to develop policies and make key decisions. Additionally, the Head of Collections and Discovery takes on the role of defining the Libraries’ participation in regional and national collaborations that preserve and provide access to shared collections of scholarly materials.
