My career path has been both diverse and nonlinear as I am always up for a new opportunity and challenge. I am a passionate individual who always strives to love the work I do and do it well. Graduating from the University of Rhode Island in 2013 with a journalism degree, I spent my early 20's traveling, blogging and freelance writing for a variety of platforms while I ventured through Australia. Upon my arrival back to Vermont, I took an opportunity to work in an elementary school and instantly fell in love with the teaching profession. I then decided to attend the Upper Valley Educators Institute to receive both my teaching certification and Masters in Education. I have been teaching 3rd and 4th grade for 6 years now. Highlights from my teaching career include, directing a school play, working with colleagues to develop both behavioral and learning plans, creating dynamic units in social studies, science and literacy including the topics of school newspaper, yoga and mindfulness in the classroom, life science and native american history.As I enter into a new chapter of my life, motherhood, I am stepping back to explore career opportunities that better fit my families needs. I am looking for opportunities that align with my passions: writing, children, pregnancy, motherhood, learning, social-emotional health, yoga, outdoors, health and exercise. I am also looking for employers that value and support mothers in this new, exciting and challenging phase of their lives. I am an active Vermonter that loves the outdoors. My husband, Jack our yellow lab, Spruce, two cats, Moana and Maui and I live in Brownsville, Vermont. Our community values health, the outdoors and living a sustainable life. We are surrounded by strong, loving and supportive families and we love being able to enjoy the 4 seasons here together.
