About Kelley M Wick, Phd

Doctorate earned August 2024 from University of Nebraska-Lincoln, specializing in Developmental & Learning Sciences with a minor in Quantitative, Qualitative, and Psychometric Measures. Research interests include examining wellbeing using mixed methodology through a comprehensive, multidimensional lens throughout the levels of higher education. Thesis project included exploring the impact of faculty support on student wellbeing, especially as a method in which to enhance self-efficacy. Current work focuses on the factors that impact traditionally marginalized students and faculty and their wellbeing, self-efficacy, and self-concept in higher education. Special interest is paid to self-identified students & faculty of color, disability status, LGBTQIA+ membership, gender across the spectrum, as well as non-traditional students and faculty, including those identifying as first-generation students.Teaching experience includes 4 consecutive academic years and 3 summers, 21 total sections and nearly 1,000 students. Currently teaching a mixed undergraduate/graduate introductory research methods course, as well as acting as a consultant for quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodology at UNL's NEAR Center. Taught an introductory statistics course to undergraduates for two academic years, featuring both hand-calculations and work in SPSS, before being recommended by statistics program chair to teach current course in an adjacent department. Consistent stellar course evaluations and letters of recommendation upon request. Absolutely loves teaching intro stats, and would love to continue to teach it and advanced methods in future career.PhD in Developmental & Learning Sciences with a minor in Quantitative, Qualitative, and Psychometric Methods, as well as a certificate in Mixed Method Research, searching for a tenure-track faculty position for Fall 2025.
