With over 25 years of work experience in global health, international development, and community engagement, I am the Executive Director at RESTORE MOBILE, a nonprofit organization that restores historic properties and neighborhoods in Mobile, Alabama. I bring my expertise in public health, diplomacy, project management, and qualitative research to lead the strategic vision, partnerships, and operations of RESTORE MOBILE, while also teaching as an Adjunct Professor of Global Health at the University of Bridgeport. Previously, I managed the strategic partnerships and international exchange programs at the New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council, where I facilitated cultural and professional exchanges between local and international leaders. I also conducted research and evaluation projects on various topics, such as domestic violence, education, and public health, at Tulane University and inFocus Enterprises. Constraints and limitations of the FSMS indicators were identified while reviewing the timing of data collection in order to determine the optimal data collection time-frame for analysis and reporting. Reintegration of displaced persons into Burundi were a major factor in the review to ascertain if food security issues had changed for the 880,000 IDPs and 400,000 refugees returned from Tanzania as a result of the 1994 genocide and 13 years of civil war (1993-2006). -
