It is fabulous to be leading this faculty for a short period. My team is so knowledgeable, organised, professional and caring of the students. In this role, I have worked with my team to review curriculum in preparation for V9 implementation 7-10 and the incoming Snr Syllabus v2 for the sciences.

During my stint as Acting House Coordinator, I oversaw the sporting house for the school’s sports days, including scheduling fixtures, coordinating student participation and resolving any logistical challenges. I made it a priority to motivate our students to participate in activities whilst encouraging a culture of sportsmanship and friendly competition. This entailed the responsibility to implement a fair and transparent house points system to recognise students’ contributions and accomplishments. I also ensured the maintenance and organisation of sports equipment and facilities as per safety standards for sporting events.Key Achievements:• Played an integral part in establishing new and running existing whole-school events, such as sporting events, fundraisers, mental health activities, among others.

In my current role, I predominantly teach Senior Chemistry, however I also teach Middle Years Science, Mathematics and Drama. Additionally, I am an External Chemistry Marker. I take pride in delivering engaging, relevant and inspirational lessons, differentiating learning programs to suit the individual learning needs of students and documenting the support of these students for NCCD tracking. On a regular basis, I dedicated time to assess students’ progress to provide constructive feedback, track individual student performance, identify areas of improvement and offer additional support if needed. As a reliable team player, I maintain open communication with colleagues to achieve consistent learning, feedback and assessment across the cohort and address any collective challenges that arise. Competent in utilising technology, I utilise tools, such as MS Word and Excel, TASS and Canvas to complete administrative accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner.Key Achievements:• Successfully nurtured and facilitated positive academic growth for students by preparing them for ATAR Chemistry, with a high proportion of students being accepted into Medicine/Health related tertiary courses.

Whilst teaching Chemistry and supervising Physics, Biology and Aquatics subjects, I guided and supported department staff in meeting essential deadlines for planning, marking and progressive reporting as well as requirements of transition to TLAP templates. Being a multi-faceted role, I handled budgeting and requisition processes, including those related to Aquatics and Biology Camps to effectively support science-related activities and ensure smooth functioning of the department. In line with the school’s objectives for the department, I worked as part of the Laboratory Refurbishment Team, liaising with teachers, students and external contractors to deliver finished laboratories as per agreed timeframes. To maintain a safe environment for both staff and students, I implemented risk management systems and CompliSpace Assurance Monitoring and guaranteed compliance with the school’s safety guidelines.Key Achievements:• Introduced Psychology as a new subject offering in the department and integrated the subject into the department.• Developed leadership skills in an academic context by undertaking responsibility for interviewing new teaching and support staff and supporting staff transitions.

For five years, I provided oversight to Tutors and ensure the timely completion of year level responsibilities, monitoring and enhancing the continuity and consistency of teaching practices within the cohort. Throughout those years, I demonstrated focus on the pastoral care of students and managed student welfare through positive relationships.Eager to establish cooperation towards achieving specified goals, I maintained effective communication with colleagues and parents throughout the year level whilst collaborating with the College Executive team and contributing to working parties in the development of College Policies. It was also a pleasure to build strong relationships with students and their families through positive and empathetic interactions to help students thrive academically and personally, enhancing their overall educational journey.Key Achievements:• Contributed to the attainment of an ISQ Middle Leaders grant for researching and developing a Student Wellbeing project and wrote the final report for submission to ISQ for publication.  Participated in a series of workshops, researched best practices, collected key data and engaged with students throughout the process. • Developed the Cohort Pastoral program, drawing on current research to inform the creation of resources for tutors to implement with a focus on student wellbeing, academic progress and overall development.

This role was an exceptional learning ground with a variety of students and diverse needs. I performed contract work in middle years Science and Chemistry, designing engaging lessons to facilitate student learning through a variety of teaching strategies and demonstrations. I was able to cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment by fostering a respectful and supportive classroom culture. It was truly rewarding to witness my students’ performance improvement by providing timely and constructive feedback and supporting their academic success. Key Achievements:• Received a contract after successfully completing Practical Teaching in recognition of excellent teaching performance.

In the research and development laboratory, I performed wet chemistry analysis of pharmaceutical drugs to determine formulation and composition. I developed strong analytical techniques of high standard to adhere to the constraints associated with medicine formulation for the Therapeutic Drugs Association in Australia and the Federal Drug Association in the US. I used a variety of laboratory equipment including Gas Chromatograph, High Pressure Liquid Chromatographs and UV-VIS and Dissolution machines. The regulations required high levels of attention to detail and strict adherence to high quality laboratory techniques.
