With 15 years of teaching experience in the Sciences, I have developed both my instructional and leadership skills to create engaging learning environments and inspire a love for learning. My journey as an educator has highlighted my commitment to student success and belief in the transformative power of education.Having undertaken various acting leadership positions, I take it upon myself to inspire and guide educational staff towards their full potential. I am driven to lead and support educators by implementing evidence-based teaching strategies that enhance student engagement, critical thinking and academic achievement. I value open communication and collaboration with colleagues, students and parents as I believe in building strong relationships that make others feel a sense of belonging and trust within the educational community. As a lifelong learner myself, I am continually seeking opportunities for professional growth and development. It is fabulous to be leading this faculty for a short period. My team is so knowledgeable, organised, professional and caring of the students. In this role, I have worked with my team to review curriculum in preparation for V9 implementation 7-10 and the incoming Snr Syllabus v2 for the sciences.

Acting House Coordinator

During my stint as Acting House Coordinator, I oversaw the sporting house for the school’s sports days, including scheduling fixtures, coordinating student participation and resolving any logistical challenges. I made it a priority to motivate our students to participate in activities whilst encouraging a culture of sportsmanship and friendly competition. This entailed the responsibility to implement a fair and transparent house points system to recognise students’ contributions and accomplishments. I also ensured the maintenance and organisation of sports equipment and facilities as per safety standards for sporting events.Key Achievements:• Played an integral part in establishing new and running existing whole-school events, such as sporting events, fundraisers, mental health activities, among others.

Being a multi-faceted role, I handled budgeting and requisition processes, including those related to Aquatics and Biology Camps to effectively support science-related activities and ensure smooth functioning of the department. In line with the school’s objectives for the department, I worked as part of the Laboratory Refurbishment Team, liaising with teachers, students and external contractors to deliver finished laboratories as per agreed timeframes. To maintain a safe environment for both staff and students, I implemented risk management systems and CompliSpace Assurance Monitoring and guaranteed compliance with the school’s safety guidelines.Key Achievements:• Introduced Psychology as a new subject offering in the department and integrated the subject into the department.• Developed leadership skills in an academic context by undertaking responsibility for interviewing new teaching and support staff and supporting staff transitions.
