KJ has more than 25 years’ experience in the environment and mining industries. She commenced her career as an environmental scientist for a large mining and processing operation in northern South Australia, responsible for flora and fauna monitoring and management. This was followed by a natural progression into the Environment Manager role, where she oversaw the environmental management system for the whole of site. She then joined the Finance Team as the Risk and Governance Manager where she played an integral role in ensuring compliance with the risk management framework. Prior to joining JBS&G, she was the General Manager at a conservation project in arid South Australia. This role involved ensuring ongoing financial viability of the business, day to day running of the reserve and assisting with delivering research projects.At JBS&G she managed a number of environmental approval projects for various mining companies.KJ is currently working with SIMEC Mining in the approvals and regulations team, and is also a sole trader, supporting clients with environmental management and approval expertise.
