I am currently the special education teacher and educational coordinator for the school. I monitor and write the IEP's and 504 Plans. I work one-on-one or in small groups with students in my classroom to accommodate their needs or reteach skills when they need extra help. I assist teachers with modifying assignments and making necessary classroom accommodations. I read tests and assignments to students in the resource room. I organize, update, and keep track of necessary paperwork and students' online files. I administer standardized tests and Hiset testing. I help with behavior monitoring of students and implement behavioral teaching interventions, contracts, conflict resolution strategies, and the Teaching Family Model of Care to help minimize behaviors and talk students through their crisis situations. I analyze data in an online program to monitor goals and check on progress. I help with the end of the semester Graduation and Award's Program plans at the end of each semester to help award deserving students by writing the script and narrating the program. I facilitate the student-led morning announcements program, informing the school of special plans, events, or birthdays for the day. I care for each student and try daily to meet their physical, educational, and emotional needs.
