Through this rigorous program she has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, African, composition, improvisation, partnering, contact improvisation, Body-Mind Centering and yoga, as well as writing and theorizing courses that explored the politics of topics such as gender, sexuality, race and culture in dance and choreography. Additionally, she routinely added company classes at TU Dance to her schedule, taking ballet, Gaga and Horton. Over the course of her time at the University, Kelli had the honor of performing works by Carl Flink, Justin Jones, Joanie Smith, luciana achugar, Angharard Davies, and more. She has performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company when the University's cast of "Panorama," restaged by Susan Kikuchi, was featured in their performance at the Northrop Auditorium. Kelli was also a part of the world premiere of professional company Shapiro & Smith's "Tableau Vivant" at the Cowles Center for Performing Arts and the Two-Time Upper Midwest Emmy Nominated Broadcasted Performance of Black Label Movement's TPT Takeover Episode on the Twin Cities Public Television.Kelli was selected to spend a semester studying abroad in Israel at the Rothberg International School of Hebrew University and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. The focus of her time there was training in Gaga, the movement language created by Batsheva Dance Company's artistic director Ohad Naharin. During the semester she had the opportunity to learn repertoire from contemporary dance companies Batsheva Dance Company and Vertigo Dance Company, as well as the work of Israel freelance artists. Kelli is currently a professional dancer with several Twin Cities' based dance companies and teaching artist at WestMet Classical Training. She is the Consulting Coordinator at Artspace Projects, Inc. working with communities and arts/cultural organizations across the country to create, foster and preserve affordable space for the arts.
