I am a passionate conservation social scientist with expertise in gender data, women and rangeland conservation, and conservation and conflict. As a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State, I currently apply climate security and gender lenses to policy and programmatic work in conflict-affected areas.Prior to this, I was an accomplished international journalist with a decade of proven success as a writer, editor, and creative leader. As a reporter and editor, I specialized in gender equality, rural livelihoods, and climate change storytelling within global development. To build on the knowledge I gained during my reporting career, I completed an M.Sc. in International Conservation & Development at the University of Montana, with a focus on gender. Rooted in feminist and decolonial theory, my research explores the discursive trends and participatory practices that define how pastoral women experience an integrated environment and development agenda in northern Tanzania.
