I am a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant working for a group of Ophthalmologists and Optometrists who specialize in Cataract surgery and MIGS glaucoma surgery. I have been at the same clinic for 22 years which has turned me into an "eye nerd". I Love Eyes! They are fascinating and so complex. I thoroughly enjoy continuing to learn new things every day. I have extensive experience in office testing for pre-operative cataract measurements and glaucoma testing with Zeiss and Optovue technology. The doctor I am currently working for has a special interest in Neuro-Ophthalmology seeing many patients referred for Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension, Optic Neuritis, and sudden-onset symptoms such as double vision. This requires me to communicate frequently with referring offices and insurance companies for prior approvals. I have to maintain current information on outpatient scheduling with different local and some remote facilities.
