About Kelli Cooper

I’ve been an administrator, program coordinator, and teacher for special education, gifted and talented, and regular ed students for more than 12 years. My goal is to create learning environments that foster student achievement and deliver on district goals. From 2008 to 2013, I worked in Texas schools, as a Special Education Department Head, teacher, and Assistant Principal in three different schools. I particularly love working in special ed and with students of all ages who have unique challenges. In 2013, my family had the opportunity to move abroad, and I quickly landed a job as Assistant Principal for an American high school in Kuwait. Over the next seven years, I taught at two other Kuwaiti schools, before Covid-19 put me out of a job. I was very lucky to immediately be recruited as a Student Services Coordinator for a K-12 academy in Bejing, China. In that role, I developed and revamped the special education, gifted and talented, and student safeguarding programs for 3 campuses serving approximately 1,000 students. But Covid put an end to that, as well, and I happily returned to Texas to continue my career. I’m currently looking for an opportunity to help a local school district grow and improve its special education services program. Feel free to reach out to me at: kellicooper567@gmail.com.My skillset includes: • ARD Process• Behavior Management• Classroom Observations & Evaluation • Compliance Management• Individualized Education Programs (IEP)• Policy & Procedure Development• Staff Development & Mentoring• Training Programs & Materials
