By trade, I am a Nationally Registered Licensed Paramedic and spent many years in EMS prior to my move to STRAC. While serving in my role as a Paramedic, I held multiple positions to include Field Training Officer, Field Supervisor and Community Health Manager. During my time at Schertz EMS, I was privileged enough to be part of the team that established the very first Field Training Officer program as well as the Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) program. I moved over to STRAC in 2018 to join the Southwest Texas Crisis Collaborative (STCC) Division. I began my work at STRAC as the Program Manager for our MIH Consortium which is a group of EMS agencies all working together on several MIH Programs. As time progressed and MIH moved more and more into the mental health world, I increased my involvement in STCC/Mental Health programming. Eventually, I took on the role of the Assistant Director for the STCC Division and am now in my current role as the Director for the STCC Division. The STCC is a progressive collaboration of major healthcare systems, the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, the Local Mental Health Authority and philanthropy organizations all working together on an integrated system of crisis mental health care.
