About Kellie Darling
As long as I can remember I wanted to work in the fashion industry. At a young age I imagined a glamorous life on set styling Hollywood’s elite. However, life had other plans for me. For over 2 decades I’ve been the owner of The Sewing Room a full service alteration shop. We don’t fit the typical mold of what an alteration shop is. I think that is what has made my shop so successful. I love my clients and enjoy giving outfit tips and tricks as well as making their clothes fit to perfection. I’ve always been a big believer you don’t need an expensive piece to look like a million bucks you just need a great seamstress/tailor. Majority of my work day is overseeing staff, running business operations and doing fittings. On rare occasions during off season I get chance to sit at machine and sew. Life handed me something I couldn’t of ever dreamed of myself and I’m so happy for it! My goal is to connect with like minded people in the industry. I’ve always have my eye out for an apprentice who can continue The Sewing Room unique brand for many years to come. If you think it could be you reach out to me!
