CurrentI use the chemical compositions of volcanic rock and mineral samples to determine timing of eruptions and interpret pre-eruptive magma conditions and processes. My current research is focused on late Pleistocene to Holocene eruptions in the San Francisco volcanic field, Arizona. I conduct field work, apply argon dating and surface exposure dating, use microanalytical tools such as scanning electron microscope and electron microprobe, and work collaboratively with colleagues of various disciplines to learn more about this volcanic field and its potential volcanic hazards.
