Hi There! I’m Kellie and I have a passion for teaching allied health therapists and business owners how to become great leaders and have life long fulfilling careers. I have 25 years of very practical and hands on leadership experience as well as having the leadership qualifications to match. My passion for leading people and building high performance teams started as a 17 year old Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, leading very large teams in high pressure environments. This was followed by a complete career change into Allied Health where I retrained and became a Physiotherapist specialising in working in the Disability and Early Intervention spaces. After a few years, not content enough with my hands on Physio skills and only being able to help one person at a time, I soon realised that if I were able to lead teams of highly motivated therapists I could make a much bigger impact on the services provided to the disablity community. Once I had gained experience as a junior and senior therapist, clinical supervisor and University Lecturer, I chased down Allied Health Team Leader and Clinical Services Manager roles to further expand my allied health leadership experience. Through that process I have supervised both small and very large Allied Health Teams with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists and Therapy Assistants over the last 17 years. I have helped business owners grow their therapy teams from 15 therapists through to 80 in the matter of a few years, implementing organisational and team structures and leadership and supervision processes. My passion for recognising the potential in others and helping them to achieve personal, professional and clinical growth so that they can foster a career that they love is what drives me every single day. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to foster a supportive team culture that allows every therapist in a workplace to absolutely thrive. Working in healthcare can be really challenging with high staff turn over, burnout, therapist shortages, and then throw in a pandemic, never has there been a more important time for effective and compassionate leadership strategies which fosters high performing teams and ofcourse, build a business where everyone thrives, from staff at every level, through to the community that they serve. With great leadership everyone wins! I hope to work with you soon!
