CurrentPeer2Peer Education CIC was founded in June 2015 as a Community Interest Company, training young people to teach young people. We deliver peer led workshops to schools and other youth related organisations, providing information, advice and support on sensitive subjects and issues young people face in their daily lives. Our fully qualified youth workers, aged 18-30, have received extensive training in the relevant subjects, Safeguarding and Child Protection. We focus on topics such as Gun and Knife Crime; Gang Awareness; Peer Pressure; Conflict Resolution; Developing Personal Confidence; Anti-Bullying; Drug and Alcohol Awareness; Unhealthy Relationships and many more. Sessions are evaluated to continuously improve standards and are available to organisations throughout each stage of our delivery. We work with a wide range of young people, from those who are vulnerable, involved in unhealthy relationships, under-achieving in school, to those who have no obvious concerns but lack the confidence to make well-informed decisions on how to cope with everyday life situations. We help them to receive the correct information and provide a safe environment to feel comfortable participating in discussions that they might ordinarily be too embarrassed to explore. This increases their awareness of themselves and others in relation to personal safety and development. Our facilitators are experienced in one or more of our workshop topics and as such, are not only best placed to teach the subjects, but can also relate to the young people, giving real-life advice. Our mission is to support and challenge young people to become the best that they can be. Our vision is for all young people to grow up with the ability to make well informed choices, enabling them to navigate a fulfilling career and make a positive contribution to their communities. We support them to develop their confidence and resilience alongside the relationship skills they need to do this.
