An adventurer at my core, my fuel and tactics are my Principles of Adventure I’ve learned while exploring the wild environments around the world, honed skiing from some of the world’s highest peaks and most aesthetic lines, exploring the globe with my mountain bike, kites, & skis, and flying my Super Cub around the wild landscapes of Alaska using its rivers, tundra, beaches, and glaciers as my runways. My first career spanned the oil and gas industry from trading to refining, ultimately managing large upstream operations in the world’s harshest physical and cultural environments. From the frigid Arctic to the heat (literally and figuratively!) of the Middle East, I’m no stranger to performing against all odds and creating results with my unique and effective approach. A chemical engineer through-and-through, I think at a systems level and see everything as a process. My brain naturally sees organizational breakdowns through this lens and easily diagnoses dysfunction. I’m wired for efficiency and it hurts to see energy wasted. Comfortable navigating a sea of complexity, I’m not looking for the answer, but rather one that will work and that is optimized for the right things. In the context of AI being able to do anything a human can at base function, we don't have a choice but to bring the best of our brains to the challenges before us in business, and it's my life's work to make this happen.
