Provides senior leadership in strategic and functional areas in the Faculty of Education, including the provision of strategic analysis and advice to the Dean and senior administrators, operations management, project management, and the development, implementation, and improvement of systems, processes, and policies. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the role leads Faculty-wide academic personnel practices and policies and the establishment and implementation of practices and procedures.

Responsible for providing leadership and direction in the activities critical to engage, recruit, advise and retain faculty, students and staff within the Faculty of Education. Manages the daily operation and resources within the Faculty, and ensures consistent application of University policies in the functional areas of academic administrative services, faculty affairs, and personnel. Administers the academic personnel planning process and provides support to the Dean, Associate Deans and Senior Director, Operations and Strategic Planning through the provision of expert advice, guidance and problem resolution in the areas of education and operational planning, program and service delivery and the strategic program assessment. Provides support and advice for education and curriculum planning.

Provides strategic leadership on the delivery of the undergraduate and graduate programs as well as the communications portfolio in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Director, Education Programs role maximizes the educational impact of the Faculty's programs through researching, designing, and developing programs and initiatives, with the overall objective of engaging students and alumni.

Manages delivery and program development for Graduate Programs including the Masters of Public Health, MSc and PhD in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Manages the Department's operating, capital, temporary instruction, conference, and research budgets; providing advice and administrative support for short and long-range financial, course and instructional planning; assist in the development, planning, and execution of instructional budget, including all sessional and teaching assistants appointments; plans all course schedules and manages enrollments; supervises support staff including professional and clerical; administers sessional instructors, teaching assistants (TA’s), and research assistant appointments; conducting analyses and preparing reports; participates in long range course planning, and monitors registration activity each semester; provides advice and support to the Chair and faculty in the interpretation and application of policies and collective agreement language; and participates in Departmental committees.

Program planning and management related to course and program activity for the Centre for Leadership in the School of Health, Community and Social Justice.

Student and faculty support for the delivery of courses, editing course ware and other documents, marketing, website administration.
