𝗛i, 𝗜'𝗺 𝗞𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶 👋I'm a Design executive with 20+ yrs of product, UX, research, creative and brand expertise. I use creativity, empathy and collaboration to lead teams and solve complex problems. From vision to strategy and through execution, I motivate others to join me in bringing human-centered solutions to life. I'm especially passionate about developing talent and fostering a sense of belonging.𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 🌱I grew up in a military family, attending 6 different schools across Florida & Colorado. That experience taught me how to adapt quickly to change. Mystery novels & drawing were touchstones and fueled my passion for investigating, solving problems & design. I also served as Student Body President, which sparked my interest in leadership and making things better for those around me. I studied Advertising in college, because it combined creativity and strategy. After graduation, I quickly learned to design and code websites at a small digital agency. We grew rapidly, and I was promoted to lead all of our Design and Front-end coding teams.𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 ⚡️The 2008 financial crisis forced us to lay off half of our staff. It was a painful challenge, but catapulted my growth as a leader. I found scrappy ways to help us grow with limited resources, while keeping the team engaged. As part of the Executive team, I transformed the op model, business model, & co-led an Agile transformation. I also established the first UX, Research and QA teams. The efforts were a success and we were on the Inc. 5000’s fastest privately-owned businesses list, 6 years in a row. During my tenure, I worked hands-on with companies like Wells Fargo, Porsche and Ben & Jerry's. 𝗔 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 ⭐️ I found my next challenge with Capital Group, one of the world’s largest asset managers. I put my product design and leadership skills to work, advancing to UX Lead, Experience Design Manager, and ultimately led the entire Design org. I led a multidisciplinary global team of 60+ designers and used the opportunity to create an inclusive, creative environment to solve problems for clients and the business. 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 🚀I currently lead the Product Design org at Silicon Valley Bank, where we create best-in-class experiences for the innovation economy. Experiencing the bank collapse and being part of the comeback story has been an unexpected masterclass in navigating ambiguity and uncertainty. 𝗔𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 ❤️Outside of work, I love to travel, read & spend time with my partner and 3 yo daughter.
